I have no shame in saying I love to read.  I read a little of this and a little of that.  Truth be told, if it is an easy read, I will normally try and check it out.  I don't do well with history and things like that, but other for the most part, I will try anything.  That being said, I was sent a couple of the new books from Disney Publishing for their new Original Movie, The Descendants.  I know that this is above Broxton's level, but I just might try to read them to see what they are all about.  I know the previews to the movie looks great, so it won't hurt to read them, right?  Check out a few of the selections they offer below:  Descendants Junior Novel  Age 12 + When four offspring of classic Disn

We have been watching this area develop not too terribly far from us.  At first it was a clearing, then they started building and working on a parking lot.  We saw that it was called SPROUTS and would be opening soon.  Of course that meant we wanted to check it out!!! EVERY - SINGLE - TIME - we go by, the parking lot is PACKED, but we decided to brave it and go in anyways.  It was the most awesome place to us!!   They have a little of this and a little of that, lots of great prices and so much to choose from. Best of all, it is healthy food!  (Yes, they do have candy and what not, but from what I could tell, it was mostly organic options.) So, I was given an opportunity to review them and I was impressed.  (Marc is R

I think sometimes it was just because he was bored in class and wanted to get out for a bit. Yes, we spoke about it and I told him that he was only to go when he was really not feeling well, that if he went all the time, the time he actually did not feel good, no one was going to believe him.  Being in school meant that there were a few times when he was around plenty of other sick kids  (WHY SEND YOUR KID to school if they are sick and with a fever?  I just do not get it!)  Anyways, don't get me started on that one... Well, as I was saying, there were a few times when he really did not feel well.  Instead of rushing up there each time, I found out that I

When looking for a great snack, I am usually up to try most things.  One thing I love?  Sweets!!  There is no denying that.  I also love almonds, so when I was given the chance to review " The Delicious Cookie without the Guilt" aka ALMONDINA, I knew this was something I did not want to pass up!!!! Here is a little about them from their website:  ( Click to learn more )  This all-natural, crispy almond cookie has no cholesterol and no added fat, salt, or preservatives. It is wonderfully crunchy and does not have to be dipped. It is a delightful accompaniment for coffee, tea, soft cheeses and fine light wines. The rush to eliminate fat from gourmet foods too often has also eliminated most of the flavor,

This past year, I was on the yearbook staff for my sons school, that being said, I took a good amount of photos.  (I did plenty of picture taking in his pre-k years too, but that is besides the point.)  Anyways, I had  basic camera strap that came with my camera, but then I got something pretty awesome.  Something that was a major conversation starter. Something that was perfect for me carrying my camera basically everywhere!  Bet you want to know what that was...  It was the Miggo Strap and Wrap ! This wrap is seriously awesome!   It is a camera strap to wear around your neck when you are taking pictures, then when you are done, you just wrap the came

It is getting closer to time for our baby to arrive, so that means I am at least thinking about packing a bag to take to the hospital.  I know I need to get my things in order, but I am a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to packing.  (I think I get it from my mom, she packs morning of the trip... I am not that bad, yet!) Anyways, I asked a few friends what they thought were must have items and I got ideas like suckers, lip balm and more... One thing I didn't think of, because we have it in almost every room?  Lotion!   Yes!!!!   Being that I have worked with Vaseline for what feels like a million years now, I knew that would be the lotion of choice!   Lucky for me, they have a new (to me) product, so I wanted to

If you remember a post from a few weeks ago, I was excited to share with you the cream that Broxton really enjoys using when it comes to his eczema flaring up.  It is called CeraVe and we have been very happy with it.  Well, today I get to tell you about their baby line!!! Being pregnant and all, I just sweat at the thought of going outside.  (See, sweating already and I am sitting inside typing this!)  It is just TOO HOT these days.  In previous summers, we would be outside and the mosquito's would be all over us. Yep, I guess we are just too sweet, but this year, we have not given them a chance to feast on us.  I really want to get outside, especially since Broxton wants to play basketball.  That and it sure would be nice to fire up the grill.  As soon as this little one is born, that is a plan we have.  Maybe not an all day event, but at least outside enough to enjoy the end of summer and make a few more memories.

I don't know how the first day of school went for you or your children, but I hear that many young ones have a hard time adjusting.  It was easy for Mr. Social (Aka Broxton) but it was tough on me when he started K3 and then again when Kindergarten rolled around.  Not because I was worried about him, but because I was watching my little one grow up and hitting milestones.  It was a sweet emotion... but emotional all together.  To get us ready for school, we read books and talked about how things would be.  I love the book part, as it helps to show different situations. We were recently sent a new book, by Richard Torrey.  It is called Ally-Saurus and the First Day of School.  I really thought this book was super cute
