We have not watched a video yet ( not been on our best behavior yet, so we are working on not talking as much and listening more!)  but I did want to go ahead and share with you a great idea for a budding artist in your life!
With Valentines around the corner, you could give the gift of drawing and skip the candy this year, if you are one to give gifts for that special day!  I think this would be fun and since it is geared for kids 5-9, I know when we do break it out, we will have an awesome time!
Hosted by former Disney illustrator Mark Marderosian, the critically-acclaimed, nationally broadcast, multi-award winning series teaches kids of all ages how to draw, while also taking them on education journeys to fun and exciting destinations.  Each multi-episode DVD includes journeys, drawing lessons and a specially-designed insert with drawing exercises - perfect practice for any budding young artist!  Additionally, each DVD includes a bonus drawing lesson, and a draw-along booklet with a coloring page insert.

DRAWING WITH MARK includes 6 DVDs: A DAY WITH THE DINOSAURS & REACH FOR THE STARS; WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM & HAPPY TAILS, LET'S GO TO THE ZOO & ZOO STORIES; GOOD TO GROW & LIFE ON THE FARM; SOMETHING FISHY & A DAY AT THE AQUARIUM and the special three episode volume TAKE FLIGHT, AS THE WHEELS TURN & FIRE STATION.

A professional illustrator and creator of "Angels from the Attic," a comic strip that appears in 50 newspapers nationwide, Marderosian has a soft spoken and highly educational demeanor similar to Mr. Rogers and has been teaching children how to draw for over 20 years. Marderosian, whose  teaching style is inviting, warm and extraordinarily nurturing, teaches simple basic art lessons and discusses shapes, parallel lines, shading, dimension, stick figures and action lines, so the budding artist can feel comfortable moving forward and expanding his/her creativity.

DRAWING WITH MARK is currently broadcast on 150 television stations reaching over 350 cities nationwide, is an entertaining, interactive, educational series featuring live action as well as animated "Angels from the Attic" characters.

In addition to its Parent's Choice and Creative Child Magazine awards, DRAWING WITH MARK is a Dr. Toy winner for "best vacation" product and was approved by Kids FIRST!, a voluntary collaboration consisting of more than 100,000 members whose mandate is to teach children critical viewing skills and to increase the visibility and availability of quality children's media. The series is also a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences 2013 Emmy® nominee in the Children's/Youth category in the Boston/New England area.

  1. I haven't seen it, but it looks fun! Mica likes to look, see and draw. Isaak likes to collage random stuff together.
