Have You Ever Heard?

Let me get your opinion on something... You know how it has been so cold lately?  Well, school was supposed to start back on Tuesday for us... But, due to the cold weather, they cancelled school and have us planning to go back on Wednesday. I personally think that is fine... Now, I know that northern states are used to cold and laugh at us for cancelling school because of temperatures.  (It was 6* this morning, with the wind chill at -6*) but like I said, I am fine with them cancelling... Why? 1 - Because we were not sure if the roads were going to ice over... and that ICE STORM years ago still has a fear in me... 2 - Because they were unsure that the buses would start.  I guess there is something that the north does to prepare their buses, I heard it costs around $70 PER bus to get this taken care of...  Our education budget is so messed up already, I don't see the need to pay that for an "IN CASE" situation... 3 -  Some kids do not have appropriate clothing for this

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. If you remember, we did a book countdown this year.  Each night, Broxton was able to open a new "gift" and we had a new bedtime story to read.  I wanted to list the books that we opened, but I have a question for you as well... I am going to take all the Christmas and Winter themed books and put up until next year.  If you were me, would you go ahead and wrap them with the left over wrapping paper from this year?  Or wait and wrap them all up next year?  They are just going into a storage box until we need to pull them out next Christmas season....  (You can click on each title to read my review on the book.) A Bit of Nostalgia - @millerlite

Image
My dad cracks me up... He has drank Miller Lite - in the cans, as long as I can remember...  (That was a must have at my wedding reception, just so you know...) Well, this is the way the cans looked when I was growing up: Obviously, they have changed their look through the years, but they have reintroduced the cans from my childhood... and of course dad had to buy some!!!  I just think it is hilarious that he had the ad to show what it looked like.  ( I think the magazine was from 1986 or so.) What design/packaging have you seen come back around from your younger days?

I have decided that this year is going to be about making more memories...  Yes, we can give physical gifts ... but at the end of the day, when you look back, are you going to remember the package of Army Men that you opened on Christmas, or are you going to remember the memories of playing with the Army men and daddy?  (Not necessarily those items, but you know what I mean...)  This year - the boys did not really get many PHYSICAL gifts... but they have memories. We asked them if they wanted to go to the LSU / UGA game - and that be their Christmas gift...  or they could not go to the game and get physical presents... They chose the game. I knew I wanted them to open something, so they each unwrapped
