I wish I was more like my dad and my brother, it just comes natural to them... I wish I was like them in that aspect... But, I do plan on doing everything I can to help Broxton! When I saw that there was a book, Bedtime Math, I was excited... As much as Broxton LOVES books... especially at bedtime, I knew this was going to be fun! I great "short story" to read... with a math problem to go with it! YES!!!! Bedtime Math is great for kids of all ages! It says it is for ages 3-8. This book is one to grow with.. On each page, you have a "story"  The story is basically a paragraph that is sure to keep kids attention (not to mention t

The great thing about my blogging, is that some of the CD's, DVD's and Books that we get.... Well, some get sent in to Broxton's class for them to enjoy from time to time. I am thinking that Marsh Mud Madness might be one that heads in for a day or two...  I was not really sure what to think when Roger Day showed up in my mailbox...  It was a DVD about MARSH MUD.   What can you expect?! Well, this was nothing like what was in my mind, that is for sure!!! Marsh Mud Madness has Roger Day putting on a concert for school children.   It is a DVD of his concert, but they also add footage of the things he is singing about...  I loved

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. It has been hard to have movie nights lately... Not sure what is going on with Broxton but he is extra clingy and will not be in the other room without me... So, it makes it hard to watch anything that might be a bit inappropriate for him... When I read the synopsis of Movie 43, I was thinking it was a movie that I might find hilarious (but then again, I see my enjoyment changing in my movie choices, so I am not sure yet)  I tried to watch a few minutes with him in the same room... but that is like telling a kid NOT to play with a room of toys... He had to see what I was doing... The movie starts with Kate Winslet on a blind date that is just WRONG!  Ha ha ... I found it pretty dumb, but I was also cracking up laughi

Summer Plans? #AlohaFriday

Image
I have missed Aloha Friday, but life has been a bit hectic, so I am not sure I would have been able to participate either way... But... It seems like Colette and Pamela are Bringing It back!!!! Keeping with Kailani's rules: “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.  – Kailani  My Aloha Friday Question: How has your summer been so far?  Any fun things planned? For us... I said it has been hectic!   We bought our first home !  The boys were here visiting...  We went out of town a few times to see my family... and then Broxton had Staph Infection that we had a hard time dealing with... So............  Not much "fun" as far as going anywhere... but still.. Making Memories... Isn't that was it is all about???? Hope all is well and you are enjoying you

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. I have now fully determined that being married, being a mom and being older, I just do not find things as funny as I once did...  I mean, I used to be able to watch all sorts of movies and find the humor throughout it... That is not the case now... Let me say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED The Hangover... That being said, I was excited to see the movie, 21 & Over, as it is from the writers of The Hangover...   But, we could not watch it. First of all, I hate to give bad reviews, but this is my blog and I hope that you look to it for honest information...   We put the movie on ....  I am not exaggerating when I say that it felt like every other word was the f-bomb.  I just do not get what the deal is that people feel the nee

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. With the boys here, we don't have time to watch much television..  When we do, there is normally a discussion over what to watch, as they don't want to watch the cartoons that Broxton watches and I am not having Broxton watch some of the things they watch...  That was why I was excited when Kung Fu Panda : Legends of Awesomeness showed up.  I knew that as much as we all love the "Furious Five," we would all enjoy this...  The thing was... Everyone was too busy to sit down and watch a movie...  That was great... as this is a DVD with several episodes on there...  So, you don't have to commit an hour or longer for a movie, this is awesome, as you have several episodes at shorter times!

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. When we went to see Monsters University, they had a preview announcing Disney's Teen Beach Movie .    Growing up, I used to LOVE to watch the movie, Back to the Beach with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello...  I feel like Teen Beach Movie is going to be along those same lines...   The 12 year old and I talked about how this looked like a good movie and I was even more excited to learn that we could watch it at home!    We have tried watching a couple different movies lately, while Broxton played in his area... But, it seems like EVERY MOVIE has to be full of foul language these days.  I am really looking forward to July 19th... That is when Teen Beach Movie is going to premier!!!! To get us geare

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. We love to read around here... Not only is it a great way to "escape" and enjoy other things...  I love it as it is a teaching tool as well.   4 Sunflowers Media has another great book in the Fuzzwippers Series.  This is Fuzzwippers Make Good Helpers , by Marilynn Halas.   Image Credit: Amazon Broxton has been asking me to read this to him on different occasions.   I love the story in this, like all the Fuzzwipper Books!!! In this book, Elizabeth and her fuzzwipper pal, Fuzzina set to help out the community. When the two of them started outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, they saw how sad and neglected the community garden was... They enlisted the help of their friends and t

Making Memories at the Mill. W/W

Image
While the boys were here, we decided to go back over to where we used to live...  It is the Roswell Mill . I used to go there to take pictures when I was in school... and Marc had taken the boys in the past... Talk about things changing!!!  They now have a covered bridge (that was not there last time I went, that I remember) and they have walking trails now...   Okay.  Let me say this, the PLAN was to go to an AIR CONDITIONED MUSEUM... and we ended up walking all around outside in the heat.  I am glad I had my camera, but I was totally not up for this... It ended up being fun, so that is all that matters, right? Marc and the boys... Love water shots...  I just thought this was neat the way the greenery was growing/cut at the angle.   I was walking at my own pace, taking pictures of all sorts of things, when I noticed an arrow drawn in the ground.  Broxton told Marc that they needed to leave me "clues" to know where they were...   My sweet boy, always lo

Pool Safety Essentials

I was not asked to post this... I just figure summertime means more pool days... and we can never be too safe.  We are outside all the time... and have already had a couple pool play date / birthday party invites... These items mentioned look too cute...   Poolside Safety Essentials Kid-Friendly Goggles:  We all know the sting from opening your eyes under chlorine water but as a kid, seeing what lurks in the depths of the pool is just too tempting! To make sure that your little divers eyes aren’t red when they come up for air, pack a  Fun Kids Dive Mask . The playful character dive masks are fun for kids and comfortable too! Germ Fighting Wristband:  With public pools and restrooms comes a slew of germs! Since it isn’t always easy to quickly wash your kids’ hand – and since we don’t always know what exactly they got their hands on, a sanitizer wristband, like  Halo Sani-Cuffs  keep kids entertained, stylish and germ-free. This healthy accessory - a wearable, refillable,

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Lately there has been much chatter about the latest "Monsters" movie.. Monsters University has just been released in theaters and IT IS AWESOME!!!! We had the chance to go to an advance screening and we had a blast... It was in 3D and I was so happy that Broxton actually wore the glasses the whole time. Well, okay... not the WHOLE time... He did take them off at one point to check out the crowd... Our row consisted of us and then a group of cheerleaders in their uniform... so, I guess I couldn't be mad at him! Back to the movie.... It started with a Pixar Original, Blue Umbrella... It was cute...   a bit slow for Broxton to enjoy, so obviously not one for the little ones... but I loved it!!!! Monste

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. So, I have been talking about the NFL Football camp that the boys went to, but I have yet to tell all of you about it.  (I really apologize, I will blog about that later...)  Anyways, as a blogger, I get plenty of emails each day... I love it and I love when great opportunities come my way.  This was no exception!!!  We had the chance to have the boys go to a Football camp for the day. The 12 year old is IN LOVE with football... and he hopes to make it to the NFL down the road.  The 15 year old loves sports, so I knew he would like it too. This was such a neat day...  First of all, I believe it was like the third year they did it...  (Our first year, but hopefully not the last.) The camp was held at Cart
