Happy 60th Anniversary, Schwan's!

Growing up, I can remember my mom coming home with food from the Schwan's delivery guy...  From personal pizza's to frozen lemonades, they seemed to carry a little of this and a little of that...  Truth be told, I had no clue, until recently that Schwan's started as an ICE CREAM TRUCK in 1952. I am not sure if you are aware or not, but Schwan's is the 6th most popular grocery e-tailer in the U.S.  To celebrate their 60th Anniversary, Schwan's has introduced a new flavor ice cream:  Triple Chocolate Chunk.   Their description:    The special Triple Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream features milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate ice creams swirled with pieced of white and dark chocolate. With a smooth, creamy texture and fresh dairy taste, this limited-edition flavor is crafted in small batches and packaged in a reusable commemorative anniversary container. Doesn't that sound awesome?   Marc keeps talking about how we need to order from S

The Boys Liked It... and It's Healthy?! Probar Review

Image
Whenever we have the boys here, I have to plan on having plenty of snacks on hand...  If you think about it, adding three growing boys to the mix, we have to keep them going :) They are now 16, 14 and almost 12... so yes, they are really growing...  As much as they would like to munch on candy bars, chips and drink coke all day long, I know that is not possible.  (I mean, wouldn't we all?!) So, when I heard of the Healthy Food , PROBAR Fruition , I knew I would love the chance to try them while the boys were here...  I had to try them when they came in and I will not lie, I was so nervous that they would not like them.  I just could not eat them... I think it was the texture.  Probar Fruition is full of fresh fruit... but also full of nuts and seeds.. I just could not deal with it.  Marc said they were "okay" but that was about it..  Remembering whenever I have tried to get the boys to try something new, I almost decided against it..  BUT, I wa

American Pie : Reunion Is Available For Purchase Now

Image
Are you a fan of the "American Pie" movies? If so, I am sure you know that they have a new one out... I have watched some of them... so, I thought it would be nice to add to our collection. I just watched it and there is no surprise that this is one to watch when the kids are out or sleeping... Plenty of raunchy humor and plenty of foul language!  American Pie: Reunion doesn't disappoint!   I will admit, I had not seen any of the series since the second one.  Truth be told, I did not realize they had made so many since then!    But, I saw that the "reunion" was being advertised... and that the entire original cast was going to be back, so I wanted to see what all they had in store! I will say, it was a bit odd that they decided to all come back for their 13th reunion...  I thought it was a big deal for the 10, 15, 20 and so forth... but hey, whatever floats their boats, right? This starts off in true American Pie fashion... Bed bumping ...

Broxton's A Knight - My Royal Birthday Adventure

Image
Broxton went on a Royal Adventure and is now a Knight!!!!!!!!!!! Well, not actually, but according to his Royal Birthday Adventure book, is surely did happen! We have had the chance to work with ISeeMe in reviewing their books before and I was thrilled to work with them again!  As always, having a name like "BROXTON" you can not really get personalized gifts, unless you specially order them!   I have always been very pleased with the book quality from ISeeMe and once again, they did not disappoint!  The books have great illustrations with cute stories to go with them... Incorporating having the childs name in the actual artwork, not just the story.   The latest book, My Royal Birthday Adventure, was just as great as the others...  I did notice it is a bit bigger than the last ones... As in the actual SIZE of the books pages...  It is a bigger square shape, bit it still has the hard back covers that I have come to know and love from ISeeMe.   With

Grilled Corn? W/W

Image
My dad LOVES to grill..  I mean, LOVES LOVES LOVES to!  Yes, there have been times when he has grilled in the rain, he loves it that much. Another love?   Corn.  Grilled Corn. So, I wanted to share my dads grilled corn recipe with you: First up: Get your ears ready, then place them on a piece of tin foil.     Next, add a pad of butter.   Sprinkle just a bit of sugar on there.   Roll and Fold it so that the butter stays in...  Place them on the grill.  Discuss grilling with your son... (You know, you have to pass along the love.)  Corn and Steaks nice and ready to cook.  Once they are finished (dad says wait till the tin foil starts to get a little dark and that means they are ready!) take the tin foil off and enjoy!!!! Does your house enjoy corn as much as we do? Have you ever had grilled corn? Broxton will go to town on this too!

Be A Buddy, Not A Bully With Captain McFinn and Friends

Image
With Broxton getting ready to start school, you know I am getting a bit nervous. I am all about teaching Broxton right and wrong, but I can not be with him 24/7... That being said, I was excited to learn about a new series of books, Captain McFinn and Friends . When I received an email about this book series, I was eager to read them... " ‘ Be a Buddy, Not a Bully’  is the underlying theme of this book series.  According to the National Association of Elementary School Principals, bullying has become a national epidemic with an estimated 18 million children in the U.S. being bullied each year; negative feelings from being bullied account for 3 million student absences each month. Educators agree it is critical to educate kids about anti-bullying when they are young to discourage this negative trend. Captain   McFinn  and Friends  was created by Phyllis Cafaro, with inspiration from her grandchildren.    In 2006, she began her journey to teach important life less

Just A Bit Crazy....

Image
Hope all is well with each of you... Life has been a bit hectic and crazy here, so I apologize for not posting over the weekend...  We had Marc's family in town a bit ago..   It was wonderful!    His sister, her two kids, his dad and another niece came... Not to mention the boys were here...  It was quite nice, we just visited and hung out the first night...  Then, the next morning, we were off to Chattanooga.  Marc is IN LOVE with that city and we had been talking about how his family needed to come and check it out..    So, we loaded up and headed to spend the morning there...   It was the day that the temp was reading 111.  Yes, it was hot.. but surprisingly, we enjoyed ourselves and got in the air conditioned car before it was miserable!  (I will be posting the pictures from there soon...)   We eventually headed back to Atlanta for the tweens/teens to hang out at the pool and then just hung out for the night... The next morning they were headed back to  Louisiana
