HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!!!! I received an email and wanted to share: Sesame Workshop’s newest resiliency initiative Little Children, Big Challenges.   This bilingual, multimedia outreach initiative is for military, veteran, and general public families with young children, to help increase self-awareness, boost self-esteem, and help children persevere through changes. The project will debuted this week with a new anthem, “What We Are”  Little Children Big Challenges is designed to: Proactively help children build resilience factors that they can draw on during day-to-day transitions (such as beating the bedtime blues, trying new things, learning from mistakes, making new friends, accepting not being able to do what others can, resolving problems between friends) and challenging situations (such as sibling rivalry, bullying, relocation, divorce, and incarceration) Encourage parents, caregivers, and educators to use positive routines to help foster young childr

The Klampie Mystery

Image
Broxton has a new book we have been reading...  The Klampie Mystery. This is a cute little story and I am so glad that we had the chance to read it... This story follows a little girl named Samantha on her family vacation. For their Christmas break, Samantha and her family go to visit her Aunt and Uncle in Australia... (That right there was pretty cool to me, I would LOVE to go to Australia!) To get ready for their vacation, Samantha's dad bought her a cute little stuffed Koala that "clamps" on to things.. That was how she ended up naming it Klampie!  So, as they head to Australia, Klampie is clamped to her bag...   She doesn't take her bag everywhere with her, but of course she remembers it when it is time to go...   Once they are on the plane heading back to the states... KLAMPIE comes to life! WHAT?  How did that happen? Looks like you will have to read the book to figure out the mystery!!!!! As I said, it is a cute book and we have enjoyed reading

Help Your Clothes (and Closet) With @MyClothingHelpr

Okay, lets get a bit personal here..  Do you wear your clothes more than one time before you wash them? I will be honest... I do.  Like church..  We get up, get dressed, go to church, come home and change. So, I will wear those pants a few more times before I wash them.   I will also wear a shirt that I wore for just a bit again before washing them..   ESPECIALLY clothes that have to be dry cleaned.  No, I am not being nasty or lazy...  I am being normal.  At least, normal in my mind. I was talking to a friend of mine and she says she does like 4 loads of laundry PER day.. EVERY day. Her house consists of her, her husband and 2 small children.  She told me that her (and her husband) will wear something for just a bit.. change and then put on another outfit.  One example was that he comes home from work.. changes... then needs to go to the store.. changes again... then once he is home... changes again... What? There is no way that you are that dirty that you need to change

Are You a Fan of Steak? AF

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend.  I am linking up with Kailani.. My Question this week...  Do you eat steak?   If so... How do you like it cooked  and  do you use any steak sauce? My answer...  I never liked steak, until I was pregnant with Broxton... Then, I realized I LOVED it.. I used to get it WELL and loved me some Heinz 57.. Now, I like it MED and I have realized that you don't need any steak sauce...  (but, if I had to pick.. I love Country Bobs and Heinz 57)

Decorate Without Making a Mark - @PhotoTrax #giveaway

I love photos and I love hanging them in my house...  If I could, I would have them everywhere, but Marc doesn't like the holes left in the walls...   While we are at it, I get annoyed having to take the frame down to change out the pictures, so they either stay that way forever... or they never get hung!!!! When I was in college (Yes, mental note for another blog post) I lived in a dorm my first two years...  The walls were just cement.. (looked like painted cinder blocks, maybe they were?)  Any way, you could not hang anything on them... Of course, we wanted photos of family and friends, but you didn't want to take up valuable shelf space with frames... So, we improvised and just taped pictures up... or got that sticky putty stuff... Basically, it did not look that great, but it got the job done! I am not sure what dorm life is like now.. But, if its anything like my days.. You will be excited to know of a new product that I get to share with you.  Have you heard of Ph

A Few Finlandia Recipes To Try...

Image
I was so excited to have the chance to review Finlandia Cheese... The recipes look amazing and I knew that as much as we all love cheese in this house, it was going to be nice to try a different kind.. Then, I was saddened... It is only at Harris Teeter (which we no longer have) and at Costco. I swore a friend of mine had a Costco card, so I was all set... only to find out that they didn't... they just went with a friend!  So.......... I am still on my mission to try this cheese with these recipes that I have added for you, but I can not tell you personally if they are as awesome as they sound... Sublime Submarine Sandwich Serves 4 ¼ lb Ham, sliced ¼ lb Salami, sliced 8 slices  Finlandia  Swiss cheese 1 c lettuce, shredded 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced 1 small red onion, thinly sliced 2 tsp dry oregano ¼ c extra virgin olive oil ¼ c red wine vinegar 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp granulated onion S & P French baguette Create a mar
