Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovery - Review and Giveaway

Image
Another Chicken Soup For the Soul Giveaway for you! This time, we are talking about Grieving and Recovery. This is a great book for those that need help dealing with their emotions. No, it is not a "self help" book, but more of a book full of 101 stories of how others have dealt with grieving... and recovering... As with all the Chicken Soup Books, you have the quotes that are my favorite... (Have you noticed yet how much I love quotes?) They do not have the cartoons though. Very appropriate, if you ask me... Although people deal with grief differently, I did not think that they would be able to incorporate cartoons in this volume. The quote that hit home the most for me? " Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky, are best relived by the letting of a little water. - Antoine Rivarol " (If you know me at all, I cry at the drop of a hat... and at times, I will feel the "need" for a good cry and I will watch a sad/sappy movie just for that reason.) The cha

Chicken Soup for the Soul : Shaping the New You - Review and Giveaway

Most people are familiar with the Chicken Soup books... They have been around for as long as I can remember and they are branching into more topics... The latest book that is out there deals with "Shaping the New You." Now, the thing I like best about this particular book is that it follows the pattern of all the other Chicken Soup Books. You get the wonderful quotes... (I think that might be what I love most in some of the stories) You get the 101 Stories... and yep, you get the cartoons! Instead of it being one person telling you what you have to do in order to shape up... You get 101 stories of inspiration in helping you find the right way for YOU. Did you get that? YOU figure out what is right for YOU... The Chapters are broken down: Getting Started Exercise Can Be Fun To Err Is Human Regaining Control The Gym Liking Myself Having a Partner Telling Myself the Truth Foods that Made a Difference Off the Beaten Path My favorite story was Lying to Myself. The story shared is

Lavender Space Bags - Review and Giveaway

Image
Before Marc left for his deployment, we started packing everything we could for storage. That meant we went to the store and bought tons of those space bags... Have you seen them? Have you tried them? Well, we put anything and everything we could in there... Clothes that we would not be needing... Blankets and things that would be packed for the time being... You can even pack your comforter sets! These bags hold it all! Those space bags really are great! You just put your items into the bag and then you get your vacuum and suction out all the air. They make all different size bags, from the small to the JUMBO cubed ones.. I have even heard of people that pack the space bags to take up less room when they travel. I think that is a great idea, but then how do you pack to come home? I don't think I have ever seen a vacuum in the hotel room. Anyways... I was lucky enough to get to review the NEW LAVENDER SPACE BAGS. Now, I wish these were around when we were packing... I wanted my c

Rubbermaid Helps Me Organize - Review

Image
I was lucky enough to be sent a Rubbermaid Slide Out 2 Tier Can Rack . I have both my likes and dislikes, so I am still unsure if I would purchase more... (At this time, once we have a house... YES!) I love the fact that it is nice and sturdy, but at the same time, it is a bit bulky. Now, remember... I have like a half pantry type thing going on, so it doesn't work as well as it should. What do I mean? My pantry isn't as deep as most are... Which in turn means that the rack doesn't fit on the shelf. I make it work, but it doesn't really! Also, the rack is a bit big, so... If you are organizing small cans of Campbell's Soup, it is a bit to big for the cans... BUT - If you are organizing those big cans of Progresso or Campbell's Chunky, then it works great! What I ended up doing was staggering/doubling up the smaller Campbell's and putting them on the top, leaving the bottom for the bigger cans. I will be glad when we have a normal pantry, as I know this would
