That Mom - Country Time Lemonade Giveaway

Image
I want to be THAT MOM. I never thought that I would say it... You know, the mom that has lemonade ready for the kids and friends after school. Like in the movies when someone comes to visit and you invite them to sit on the porch and have a nice glass of lemonade! Ha! Yes, being a mommy has totally changed how I want to be! But, I love it!!!! The thing I love about the canister of Country Time is that you can make whatever amount you need... Just add water and you are good to go!!!! Seriously, unexpected company? Whip up a thing of lemonade in a flash!!!! The ONLY thing that I do not like about it... I wish it had an easier pour spout so if you just wanted to make a bottle. Yes, I know that they sell the singles too... But with the canister, I wish that was an added feature. See? Not really a big deal! I can deal with that!!!! When you were younger (or your kids) did you make a lemonade stand? I do not even know... Do kids still do that today? That is such a classic image of childh

Ecover - Review and Giveaway

With all the cleaning products out there today, how do you decide what to use? Wouldn't it be better if we looked to make sure we were protecting the environment at the same time? Instead of using products with tons of chemicals, we should be trying to use more that use our natural resources. Take ECOVER , they use PLANT BASED INGREDIENTS ! ECOVER has been around since 1980, but I have just recently discovered them. They are also an international company, that was started in Belgium. Head on over to their site to read more about them... and while you are there, look at their roof! Tell me that is not just too cool! I would like to visit and see that for myself! :) We were sent a bottle of the All Purpose ECOVER . The bottle said All Purpose, so I used it to clean a little of everything... I ran a sink of pretty warm water and then added 2 cap fulls of the cleaner. First, we had an explosion of some sorts in the microwave and it was a stubborn clean-up... The ECOVER got it

30 - Day Blogger Challenge Day 3

Day 3 — A favorite book Oh Wow! This is yet another hard one. Why does everything have to be a favorite? Ha! I love every single Nicholas Sparks book. Ever since I read "The Notebook" I have been in love! His writing, his characters... I love all of them! I also have a place in my heart for Jodi Picoult . I read "Change of Heart" and at that point, I knew I would have to read all of hers too! Each one of her books makes you ask yourself what you would do... If you have not read her, I recommend you do so! But then we can go to Broxton's books... I love reading with him and each one brings a smile to our face... Do I love to read? Yes! Do you? I hope so! As for a favorite... I do not have one, which is a good thing!

Mable's Labels - Review

Image
With kids going back to school... There is no better time than to share a recent discovery of mine. Mabel's Labels ! I was recently sent a code to get a pack of Mabel's Labels for us to review. After looking at all the cute items, we went with the Racecar Sticky Labels . This has been perfect for labeling Broxton's cups and such... Especially this past weekend!!!!! They have 26 different designs that you can choose from with the Sticky Labels! I like how although it is stuck on his cups, the labels have not come off, (unlike the stickers that he placed ALL OVER them this weekend!) I know that once Broxton starts school, we will be using these to label his items... You know, the fun school supplies!!!! If you have a school aged child... Or a little one in daycare (even the nursery at church... ) These are a must have in my opinion!!!! You can keep up with all that Mabel's Labels has to offer by these different options: Twitter Mabelhood (their blog) Their Newsletter

Elmer's Bag it Forward

Image
We do not have to worry about school supplies for Broxton yet... But we do buy supplies for the other boys... There are some people that just do not have the means to buy for their children.. So, we must all be thankful for the Elmer's Bag it Forward Program. (This is also great at teaching kids to " pay it forward " or to help others when you can, because you do not know when you might be the one needing a helping hand!) Elmer's has created a virtual bag it forward charity meme!!!! How awesome is that? With all the great bloggers out there... You simply head on over here for the rules. The more posts we get out and spread the word... The more will be donated!!!! Elmer's is "Adopting - a - Classroom" I was tagged by my dear Xmas Dolly and now I am tagging: Melissa @ Frugal Creativity Lorie @ The Shewbridges of Celebration Florida Joanna @ The Casa Jill @ Blessings of a Stay at Home Mom Emily @ Family and life in Las Vegas ELMER’S VIRTUAL BAG

Strong Bonds

What a weekend! ( I am not sure about other branches, so when I am writing this... I am referring to my experience with the Army National Guard.) The Guard has what is called a Yellow Ribbon Service. Basically, it helps with the service member (and the spouse) with coming home and reintegrating into civilian life. We actually got to go to a Yellow Ribbon Service BEFORE Marc deployed (to give the spouses information as to what resources were available to us during the deployment.) Once Marc was home, they had another one, just to remind everyone that they were there for us. This past weekend... There was a Yellow Ribbon Service as well as a Strong Bonds retreat. What is Strong Bonds? Basically... It was a marriage retreat. We went and I think we both had a great time. All the guys were there... and not in uniform, so I am sure they liked that better than the normal drill each month. They put us up in really nice hotels... We actually stayed at the Westin in Savannah . Our hotel w

How did you come across blogging? I started blogging to basically have something to do. My husband was deployed... I was a first time mom ALWAYS online looking up things... Now, I continue to do it because I love it! and of course, I love all the wonderful people I have met!

Precious Moments Blanket - Review and Giveaway

Image
Ever since I can remember, my grandmother gave me a Precious Moments figurine. I used to have them sitting on my dresser, but since I have quite a few now, I have them packed up until I have a curio cabinet to display them in. I also used to have a Precious Moments coloring book... I mean, think about it... the soft pastels of the figures... they really are "precious" and they celebrate all the "moments" in your life! Recently, with Mom Select, I was able to review an item from the Precious Moments Baby Boutique . I must admit, I did not realize just what all items the " Precious Moments " line has grown into! The store literally has it all! The " Precious Moments Baby Boutique " has so many adorable items! Baby bottles, the classic figurines, keepsake albums, photo frames, comb & brush sets, Bibles, bedding... Do you get the picture? They have so many things!!!! I wish I would have known about this.. There are a few items that I would hav

Image
I do not know about you... But either our washing machine or our dryer is FULL of socks! Some how whenever we do a load of laundry... A sock disappears... (Maybe it is the Sock Fairy?!) Now, for normal white socks, you might have more than one pair... so it is not THAT big of a deal... But, you know the cute socks you get with all the fun patterns on them? Well, when one of those socks goes missing, you have to give it up... No more wearing those fun socks! I mean, really... Unless you are Pippi Longstocking or Punky Brewster , you have to have your socks match! Now there is a solution to your sock problems!!! THROX ! Have you heard of them? Time for Bed Baby Ted - Book Review

Image
As you know, I love reading ! I really hope to pass that love along to Broxton . We have read books since he was born and from time to time, he will sit in his chair and "read". Other times, I read to him. With that in mind. I am always looking for books to add to the library ! We were able to review, Time for Bed Baby Ted by Debra Sartell . At night, we normally read one or two books before bedtime. With Time for Bed Baby Ted , we read THAT BOOK three times! :) Time for Bed Baby Ted is so cute! It tells of ... You guessed it! Baby Ted, getting ready for bed! As Ted gets ready, his dad guesses who he is... and in the process, Ted gets ready for bed and it is determined... Ted is not a baby! He is a big boy because he got ready for bed by himself! (Even brushing his teeth!) With squeaks and snaps and everything else in between... Daddy guesses what baby Ted is... and in the process Ted is getting ready for bed! What a FUN way to go night night! This is a must have for all!
